GeneratePress is the lightweight WordPress theme I recommend most often to bloggers, and it rarely goes on sale. This guide covers exactly what GeneratePress offered on Black Friday 2025, what it costs today and whether the sale is worth waiting for. As of 20 October 2026, GeneratePress has not announced its Black Friday 2026 offer.
GeneratePress comes in two layers. The free theme on WordPress.org is enough to start a blog. GP Premium is a paid plugin that adds premium modules and more customisation options. There is also GeneratePress One, a bundle that puts all of the company’s paid tools under one licence.
That bundle was the star of last year’s Black Friday sale, so it is worth understanding before the offer comes back. If you want my full opinion of the theme itself, read my GeneratePress review.
Every price below comes from GeneratePress’s own website, checked on 20 October 2026, and the 2025 offer comes from the official GeneratePress blog post that announced it.

Key takeaways
- As of 20 October 2026, GeneratePress has not announced a Black Friday 2026 offer, and its pricing page shows no sale.
- In 2025, GeneratePress offered GeneratePress One for $99 to start the annual subscription, and the offer ended on 1 December 2025.
- GeneratePress One normally costs $149 per year, so last year’s deal took $50 off the first year.
- GP Premium on its own costs $59 per year and was not the focus of last year’s sale.
- Every licence covers up to 500 sites and comes with a 30-day refund period.
- Past offers are not a promise. Treat last year’s deal as a guide, not a guarantee.

Has GeneratePress announced its 2026 Black Friday deal?
No. When I checked the GeneratePress pricing page on 20 October 2026, it listed only the normal prices and no sale or countdown.
As of 20 October 2026, GeneratePress has not announced its Black Friday 2026 offer. I will update this post when it goes live.
What GeneratePress offered on Black Friday 2025
GeneratePress announced its 2025 deal on its own blog on 25 November 2025. The offer was on GeneratePress One, the bundle of all its pro products, and it said you could start the annual subscription “for only $99”. The post said the offer ended on 1 December 2025.
Post Status, which keeps a large list of WordPress deals, listed the same offer as “$50 off GeneratePress One” and gave the validity as 17 November to 1 December 2025.
Two details are worth noticing:
- The deal was on the bundle, not on GP Premium alone. GeneratePress did not advertise a discount on the $59 GP Premium licence.
- It was a first-year price. The blog post talked about starting the annual subscription at $99. It did not promise $99 at renewal, and the pricing page says subscriptions renew automatically every year.
Current GeneratePress prices (before Black Friday)
These are the prices listed on GeneratePress’s pricing page on 20 October 2026.
| Product | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| GeneratePress (free) | $0 | The base theme from WordPress.org |
| GP Premium | $59 per year | The premium add-on for the theme |
| GenerateBlocks Pro | $99 per year | Pro version of the GenerateBlocks page-building blocks |
| GenerateCloud | $99 per year | Requires GenerateBlocks Pro |
| GeneratePress One | $149 per year | GP Premium, GenerateBlocks Pro and GenerateCloud under one licence key |
The pricing page says licences cover up to 500 sites, renew automatically once a year and can be cancelled at any time from your account. Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase. There is no lifetime option on the page.
Which product to pick when the sale starts
- One blog, simple design. The free theme plus GP Premium at $59 is enough. If the 2026 sale is again bundle-only, you do not need to buy the bundle just because it is discounted.
- You build pages with blocks. If you already use or plan to use GenerateBlocks for landing pages, GeneratePress One is the better value, and that is where last year’s discount was.
- Several client sites. The 500-site limit is generous, so one licence covers most freelancers.
If you are still choosing a theme, my comparison of Astra vs GeneratePress explains the differences, and the Astra Black Friday guide covers the other popular choice. My list of the best WordPress themes for bloggers has more options.
Watch out
- The discount was for the first year. Expect the normal yearly price when the subscription renews.
- Auto-renewal is on. Turn it off in your account if you only want one year.
- Bundle or plugin? Do not pay for GenerateBlocks Pro and GenerateCloud if you will never use them.
- Short window. Last year’s offer ended on 1 December, the day after Cyber Monday.
How to get the best Black Friday price
- Try the free theme first. Install GeneratePress from WordPress.org now, so you know whether you like it before the sale.
- Decide between GP Premium and the bundle. Write down which pro features you would actually use.
- Check from mid-November. Last year’s deal was listed from 17 November.
- Use the 30 days. Set the theme up on your site during the refund period.
- Set a reminder for the renewal date. Then decide calmly whether to keep the subscription.
Is it worth waiting for Black Friday?
If you want GeneratePress One, yes. Last year’s deal saved $50 on the first year, and the sale is only a few weeks away.
If you only need GP Premium, the saving may be zero, because last year’s offer did not cover it. In that case, buy it when you need it. The free theme works well in the meantime, and a fast theme is only one part of site speed. My guide to speeding up WordPress covers the rest.
